Privacy Policy

How EdGridAI protects the privacy of students, parents, and schools in compliance with the DPDP Act 2023.

1. About Us & Scope

EdGridAI is an educational adaptive learning platform developed and operated by Pranix AI Labs Private Limited (CIN: U62011TS2026PTC209631), having its registered office at:

Pranix AI Labs Private Limited
D. No. 8-2-618/2, 2nd Floor, Reliance Humsafar Building

This policy explains in plain, understandable language how we collect, use, protect, and respect personal data when students, teachers, and schools use EdGridAI.

2. Special Protection for Children Under 18 (DPDP Act 2023)

EdGridAI is primarily designed for students in Class 9 and 10 who are under 18 years of age. Under Section 9 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023:

  • Verifiable Parental Consent: We only process personal data of a student under 18 after obtaining verifiable consent from their parent or legal guardian (either directly via our consent flow or through verified institutional onboarding by their school).
  • Zero Tracking of Children: We do not track student behavior across the internet or across multiple apps. We do not engage in behavioral monitoring or student surveillance.
  • Zero Targeted Advertising: We never display advertisements on EdGridAI, and we never direct targeted advertising toward children.
  • Child-Safe Processing: We do not undertake any processing of personal data that is likely to cause any detrimental effect on the well-being of a child.

3. What Data We Keep

We follow the principle of data minimization—collecting only what is strictly necessary to run the adaptive tutoring engine:

  • Student Profile: Name or pseudonym, student roll number/identifier assigned by the school, class/grade (Class 9 or 10), and medium of instruction (English or Telugu).
  • Parent/Guardian Contact: Mobile number or email provided during enrollment solely for verifiable consent records and sending weekly progress digests.
  • Practice & Mastery Data: Questions answered, response choices, diagnostic assessment results, and calculated concept mastery levels on the SCERT mathematics graph.
  • What We DO NOT Collect: We never collect biometric data, precise GPS coordinates, payment information from minors, browsing history outside EdGridAI, or social media profiles.

4. How We Use Data

Personal data is used exclusively for educational purposes:

  • To diagnose where a student has conceptual misunderstandings and adapt future practice questions.
  • To show students and their teachers visual learning progress dashboards.
  • To send parents periodic summary SMS digests about their child’s learning activity.
  • We never sell, rent, or trade student data to third parties, data brokers, or advertisers.

5. How Long We Keep Data (Retention Period)

We keep student data only as long as an active educational relationship exists:

  • Academic Year: Student practice records and mastery stats are kept for the active school year plus 30 days to facilitate end-of-year reports and school transitions.
  • Inactive Accounts: Accounts inactive for more than 12 consecutive months are queued for archival and automated permanent deletion.
  • Consent Expiry: Consent records are reviewed annually. If consent is revoked or expires, all associated identifiable records are deleted within 30 days.

6. Your Rights & How to Ask for Deletion

Under the DPDP Act 2023, every student and their parent/guardian has the right to:

  • Access: Review what personal data and practice records are stored.
  • Correction: Correct inaccurate or outdated student or parent details.
  • Consent Withdrawal: Withdraw consent at any time without penalty.
  • Erasure (Deletion): Request complete and permanent deletion of the student account and all associated practice logs.
How to Request Deletion:

Send an email with the subject “Data Deletion Request” to support@pranixailabs.com. Please include the student’s name, school name, and registered phone number.

We acknowledge all deletion requests within 48 hours and permanently erase all identifiable records within 30 days.
